Flame and fire retardant fabrics

We are glad to offer our most popular sheer collection FLOW fabric and our 90% blackout collection MOOD fabric as NFPA-701 certified flame and fire retardant fabrics.

What is NFPA-701 test?

The NFPA( National Fire Protection Association)-701 test establishes test methods to assess the propagation of flame of various textiles and films under specified fire test conditions. It is the standard specifically reserved for curtains and other similar hanging fabric. Fire retardant curtains are commonly used in commercial buildings including schools, churches, retail spaces, theaters, industrial, and museums.

The curtain fabric is certified to pass NFPA 701 test when it is exposed to a flame for 12 seconds and it shows the following characteristics:

  • Less than 0.2 seconds after flame
  • Less than 6.5inch char length
  • The fabric isn’t inflamed when it touches the test chamber floor

Customer service was top-notch—responsive and helpful, as measurements are tricky and finding the right style and rod took some time. Curtains are gorgeous. They didn't even need to be steamed after unpacking them. They hang perfectly. Highly recommend Loft Curtains.

I had a great follow up email with a service rep after my purchase. I got good information on a trac, system for hanging the curtains. I think they look amazing and they complete my space.
