What is ripplefold style drapery?

Ripplefold drapery, a simple and elegant style, is highly sought after by interior designers and architects. They glide easily along the custom tracks. Ripple fold panels are always custom made to seamlessly cover the desired width. They are usually constructed with 1.7 - 2.2 times the fabric of the coverage width.

Our ripple fold style is made in 100% fullness by default. For other fullness options, please make the selection accordingly.

How to measure for ripplefold curtains?

  • For the width:

We have made the process simple. Measure the total width you would like to cover and fill in the width and length in our ripple fold custom page. When you are ordering, there is no need to add additional fabric to create fullness because our panels will have built-in fullness.

  • For the height:

If you are looking for the just-above-the-floor look (most popular), measure the distance from the ceiling to the floor then subtract 1.5" (1.0" for track clearance + 0.5" for floor clearance).

If you are looking for the puddling look, add 2”-6” to the ceiling/wall bracket to floor length.

A single layer ripplefold drape will take about 4.25" - 4.5" in depth depending on the fabric thickness. For a double layer ripplefold setup, the drapes will take up 8.5"-9" in depth.

What tracks work with ripplefold curtains?

We offer the minimal, commercial-grade, powder-coated white aluminum track. For any questions, contact us at info@loftcurtains.com.

Track pieces between 92" and 104" will be charged an additional $100 for non-splice shipping, track pieces longer than 104" in length will be spliced for FedEx shipping. If you prefer the tracks not be spliced, please email us at support@loftcurtains.com for the additional freight charges.

Simply snap the buttons onto the carriers and voila. The snaps and carriers are made for each other and they make solid bonds. Snapping and sliding the curtain panel onto the carriers takes time. Be patient with the installation process.

How to install ripplefold tracks?

For ceiling mount brackets

1. Measure  Measure the width of the track and mark the two end brackets approximately 3”- 4” in from the ends of the track. Evenly space the remaining brackets and place corresponding marks.
2. Mount  To attach the bracket to the ceiling; first, pre-drill holes for screw diameter when mounting into the wood frame of window or wall stud. Otherwise, pre-drill and install anchors first before fastening with screws.
3. Attach Bracket  Place the track into the bracket as shown in the drawing; applying pressure until track “clicks” into the bracket. Make sure the track set screw is loose enough to allow the track retainer to flex. Repeat this step for the remaining brackets.

Installing Splice, if multiple pieces:

For wide areas, tracks will be shipped in multiple pieces and will require a splice.
• Slide the track of the connecting ends on each track into the channel of the splice and butt ends together.
• The tracks will snap together. Press together and confirm a tight fit.
• Secure with an additional screw.

I'm so happy I took a chance on Loft Curtains. My drapes are awesome - perfect length, well-made, and easy to hang. My handy man installed the track for me and then I measured per Loft's instructions and purchased a set of lined, 9ft. tall curtains. Three weeks later my curtains arrived and they fit perfectly. I had an estimate from a shade company but my DIY solution was 50% less. Thank you LOFT!
